• Court Dimensions: The playing court is 18m long and 9m wide.
• Free Zone: A surrounding area at least 3m wide on all sides of the playing court is required. For FIVB competitions, this free zone is larger, extending to a minimum of 5m from the sidelines and 8m from the end lines.
• Net: The net is placed vertically over the centerline, dividing the court into two equal 9m x 9m halves. The net height varies by gender and level of play:
  • Men: 2.43m (7 feet 11 5/8 inches)
  • Women: 2.24m (7 feet 4 1/8 inches)
  • Juniors: Net heights are adjusted for different age groups
